Apache

I am on TS 6.5 SP1 on win2000, With Apache 1.3.31 version. But now we want to upgrade it to the latest version of Apache. Is there any issues one will face in doing so? Any suggestions or advice is appretiated.

Hi,

The compatibility matrix available on support lists the following versions of Apache as being tested with TeamSite 6.5 SP1:
Apache 1.3.31, Apache 2.0.

Other developers might have more information to offer in terms of their personal experience with the upgrade.

Thank you Heather, I figured that out. If you check the posts posted earlier, there was one post from Simon, I guess he is the Product Manager at Interwoven her said as i quote

“If you are talking about webd, then it is still Apache 1.3.31 from TS 6.5 SP1. We will be upgrading the Apache version to possibly 1.3.33 in TS 6.7.”

As we are talking in terms of webd too, I guess there is no new Apache we can down load for TS6.5 with SP1.

The Apache webserver "webd" is a customized version of apache, If you need to upgrade this then you need to rebuild the webd apache webserver from the source.

Note: This might be unsupport.

Yes, we have contacted Interwoven regarding it. According to sox we need to have a latest version of Apache. I think we might go for Apache 2 full install

I was thinking interms of Installing New version of Apache ( Full Install) and configure webd for Teamsite, Basically configuring httpd.conf in the iw-webd/bin directory.

iw-webd is a customized version of Apache with a few extra modules that enables it to be the webserver that serves up the ContentCenter web application. You cannot swap out the Apache version nor re-build iw-webd on your own without the source code. iw-webd is currently built on a 1.3.31 version of Apache and will be built on a 1.3.33 version of Apache in TS 6.7.0. We certify and support Apache 1.3.x and Apache 2.0.x for the customer web server (which is different from iw-webd).

Sunil - Thanks for sharing the information. As Apache source code 1.3.31 or other versions are freely available & can be downloaded from the http://httpd.apache.org web site, and rebuild with specific modules. I would like to know the list of add on modules that iw-webd is using in TeamSite 6.5 and 6.7.
