Need help to build D2 Custom import plugin

Hello,

I am currently using Documentum 7.0 sp1, Application server apache-tomcat-7.0.56 and D2 4.5

I am trying to build a custom D2 plugin to override the default D2 Import file funcationality.

I referred the D2 plugin Sample code under "Sample Code\Plugins\YourCo-PluginName" provided in "D2 4.5.0 SDK" and was able to build custom Export plugin and test it. However, my requirement is to build a custom Import plugin. request you to please guide me on how do I proceed with this?

If a sample code is provided then it would be very helpful.

Hi Manisha/Lesego,

I still did not find a solution to this but have managed to do a work around.

I am currently doing it as follows

1. Create a new custom type(if required) and write a TBO which holds the logic to be executed in the D2 custom import functionality.

2. Create a custom menu bar item (say File > Custom Import) in D2 and invoke the default "Import File" dialouge i.e, calling a dialogue with "Importmanager". The new menu item is just to give the end user a fill that he is invoking a custom functionality.

3. A properties page should enable user to select the Custom object type (which has a TBO for it) that we created.

4. When the user creates an object of custom type, the TBO is triggered and task achived.

I know its is not a D2 functionality but it caters my requirement.
