file lock issue

hi all,

i am the master user(A) in teamsite. so if A unlocks any file it supposed to be unlocked for everybody who have access to that folder , right ! so A unlock all files from a certain folder which my user (B) has editor access to those folder. but still showing that file is being locked by the owner (C).

any idea why this is happening?

It might depend on what type of lock it has. Does the file show that it's locked by workflow, for instance? What happens when you "do" an "iwlockinfo" on the file?

What locking model are you using? The file could be locked in WorkArea 1 and user A is unlocking the file in WorkArea 2. If you check the file properties, it should give you more information.

in file properties it did not say anything about lock. and when i used iwlockinfo it also said "lock does not exist". then when i asked the owner to unlock the file then teh issue was resolved. i still don't know why that happened.

when c locked the index.html file in work area then the data file(dcr) was also locked by c in the same workarea. unless c or master unlock both of the file no user can work on it.
