Using Templating with Front Office
bturns
TS 6.5
Solaris 8
We are researching rolling out front office to a large set of users. I'm curious what features of templating are available with in front office.
1) Is there functionality to allow user contribution from Microsoft Word to TeamSite templating? I know this was functionality that was available in TS v5.5.2.
2) Is there functionality that allows for users to contribute to a standard Forms Publisher form?
I haven't seen any documentation on the above. Can someone point me to documentation along these lines?
Thanks much,
Brian

We are using it here and there is no direct link to TeamSite Data Capture Templates via the TeamSite Front Office briefcase. Your users would need to use content center or your own home grown UI for that. You get the ability to work in one workarea at a time, but to work in multiple, users will have to reconfigure their Front Office briefcase to select the workarea they want to work in. Copying across workareas is not supported either.
For managing files from within windows explorer and working with office applications to do things like launch workflows is pretty much what you get with this tool.

There was, loooong ago, the ability to use MS WOrd in XML mode tro save as a DCR. There was no RTF, inlines, formAPI, etc, just an XML form. I doubt anyone ever used it.
