I am on Desksite 8.0 on Windows. Can anyone let me know how to Import a Document folder into the desksite using the Desksite user interface.

Do you mean that you would like to use the IManage.dll API's to add a document folder to the WorkSite database, then be able to see it in DeskSite or anyother WorkSite Client?

There is no such thing as DeskSite API's. You may however use the IManage.dll which is distributed with the SDK to accomplish adding a new folder. Please see the COM Reference Manual for WorkSite.pdf distributed with the SDK for reference and details.
