Mod_Expires Performance in TS 6.5

Hi,

We evaluating upgrade of Teamsite from 5.5 to 6.5.

We have a requirement to cache the teamsite content [images etc]. We explored an option available in Teamsite which is mod_expires configured thru apache. Since 5.5 & it's earlier version do not support mod_expries configurations, hence we would like to know that if we migrate to 6.5
what is performance boost to overall response on selecting content in teamsite.

Any documention/technical reports to validate the difference between 5.5 & 6.5 with respect to mod_expires would be helpful to us.
