xCP 2.2- Configure custom import

Hi all,

I need some help from you in order to configure an import action.

I use default import action but, I need that in content type and content format have my type.

What I have to fill in fields in order to choose in interface my types... :

If this cannot achieve using default import action, please give me some hints on how to use custom import.

yup, open the help content of xCP from xCP designer, then search like "import action flow", you can find the detailed info from the following section.

It (default import action flow) will work even if didn't pass any values. please see the following information.

content_types : What are all the possible content type it should accept. it is multiple type so we should pass the values like {'dm_document','my_type','my_document2'}

default_content_type : whenever importing a document defaultly set the content type to this one(run time we can select different content_types )... it is single type so simple like 'dm_document'

content_formats : acceptable content formats (msw8, pdf etc)... {'msw8','pdf'}

default_content_format : initially it will set to this format ...'pdf' (run time we can select different formats )

folder_id: default location where the content should be stored. (run time we can select different location )

Hi,

I try to configure automatic import folder path using parameters.

But value of parameter isn't loaded:

In input.folder.id I put:

But value from parameter isn't load.

If I complete id of the folder then it works:

Hi...

If you want to upload a document to document through xCP, then you need the following things

1. File (*.doc, *.docx, *.jpeg etc )

2. Content type (out of the box dm_document, then your custom content object types)

3. Content Format (msw8, msw12, msw14, pdf, jpeg, png, mp3, mp4 etc)

4. Model(set of attributes for that selected content type) for that content object

5. Folder ID (of course 16 digit r_object_id of folder type)

Then just follow the following steps

Create an custom import actionflow

An action flow contains one model with one or more step pages

If you are passing the folder id defaultly, then no need of using the folder (object) selector widget

So here (above fig) files widget used to select one or more files and upload to web server, object selector (Folder selector) widget used to select the destination path where the files get stored, Content type drop down used to select content type and get the corresponding content object's import fragment to fragment container, then finally content type for that file.

Other than files selector widget everything placed inside the card container widget, it can hold the one or more set of information, for example I am uploading 3 files in a same time, so now i can choose different location for these three files, different content type and different format. obviously model will be changed depends on content type. it is possible.

So now I am going to delete the folder selector because every content object going to placed in a same folder.

Open actionflow's model page and navigate to "Navigation" tab then expand the "interaction" section. there you can see one action with name like "da_actionflow_test_1_imp", this action helps to upload file from application server to file store and create a content object entry in the documentum.

This action contains the following input attribute (these input attribute same for all custom import action flow) .

Folder ID: 16 digit folder object id

Content ID: after selected file by file selector and input the needed info, The file will be stored in the application server with one unique id, which come from this widget itself

Content Type: dm_document, <application namespace>_<content_object _name>

Model: like previously said, set of attributed for that selected content object type

Then I created one blank test page and placed one button for trigger the action flow, then i added that created action flow in the interaction, then I configured button click event to action flow trigger.

then i hardcoded the object id of one folder path (Note: this is not best practice, so add "get folder id from folder path" stateless process from interaction and give the folder path and pass the output of this stateless process to that import action flow's folder id input)

This is enough to upload a file with dm_document type. before that you need to create import fragment for all the content objects like as follow
