Web CMS (TeamSite)
Internationalization and Character Encoding
Tim__D
I have read the admin guide for 6.5 windows and have some additional questions on this topic.
Here is what I want to do.
1). Use a US(English) Teamsite server 6.5 to present an English Content Center to International users. I think this is the default product behavior? Yes? One language Interface per server?
2). Allow them to enter content in their own language Spanish, German, Japanese etc.. into FormsPublisher and produce pages with the proper encoding.
Here is what I know..
1). Directory and file names must conform to US(English) conventions. This seemed to be the only restriction listed in the admin guide.
2). Since they are running a non-English operating system they will see an the US(English) content center Interface
Has anyone had any experience with doing this. Seems pretty straight forward since Teamsite defaults to UTF-8?
I have some additional questions about how Teamsite encodes characters both in DCR's and the output of .tpl files.
For example: I tried a few special characters in Teamsite and generated a test file. The .tpl does specify utf-8 and we have not made any tweaks to any /local/.ipl or .cfg files.
FormsPublisher Content = ä ß
FormsPublisher Output = ä ß
Is this the correct behavior?
Any advise on the above questions is welcome.
