Never heard of it - but that's probably because it isn't yet published ;-)

While I'm somewhat interested to see what they've written, I don't think I'll be plunking down $100 for it.

Me either. But I will say that I hold Apress publications in a higher regard than others such as Wrox and Sams. They usually provider more advanced books than repurposed Microsoft API documentation.

From the basis of the presentation provided yesterday in the webcast, it sounds like there could be some useful information in this book.

But if the quality of the writing in the first chapter (download-able from the apress site) and the quality of the code (also download-able) is anything to go by - I might consider buying it for around $30.

I can see no justification for spending $100 for it.

If a second edition is put out - I'd strongly recommend that the author's hire a good editor / proof-reader to help them out. I imagine that they have a lot of decent information to provide, but I think they need some assistance in doing so (and a more realistic pricing model).
