Create a document link to an object in xCP

Hello everyone,

I might be mistaken but I cannot find the "Create link" in the folder Context menu. The paste "Action flow" seems to be associated with the Copy and Cut actions.

Has anyone created Actions to mimic this functionality. What was your approach?

I think for creating the 'Create link ' in the context menu you have to create a action flow for Creating that particular object. After creating the action flow you can add it in the context menu.

That's clear thank you. I'm considering two approaches to do this:

1st To be able to somehow access the object id of the "copied" document (after right clicking on the document). Then I could create a stateless process to paste the document in the folder by invoking an action. This would be the cleanest and consistent solution for the interface but I don't know how to access the "selected" object id since the "Copy" action is a standard action.

2nd Create an action flow when you right click on the document and show a search result list (with it's filters to narrow down the search) with the target folder names and use the selected file to attach the folder with a button.

Any additional ideas?

For the 1st:: you can get the object id from the result list>selected row>object ID. (For getting the object id in the result list you should add the object id in the real time query).

For the 2nd:: Sorry but I am not fully clear what u r interested to do. If you want to trigger any action flow on right click on Document then you should add an event on that particular action flow in the behavior section.(when clicked or something)

That is for the second approach. Let me rephrase that.

1st would be being able to link a "copied" document (trough the copy action in the document's content menu) using a new action in a folder's content menu accessing the "copied" document's id. Since this is an OOTB functionality I don't know where the id is stored

2nd is to create an action flow and select the folder's id as you've mentioned in your screen
