xCP 2.1 use Business Calendars

Hi,

We need to implement business calendar in an xCP application in order to compute due dates according to business calendar. Based on this calendars we have timers which should complete automatically the Tasks in case no action is performed by user.

Configurations:

A business calendar was created and applied it to a process. A timer on manual activity was configured which calculates the due date, there have been applied the process business calendar again.

We tried different combinations but with no success.

Does anybody has experience with business calendars in xCP 2.x ? How did you manage to have them working ?

Can you enable the log4j tracing in $Method_server/deploy/bpm.ear/APP-INF/classes/log4j.properties on package log4j.logger. com.documentum.bpm = DEBUG and send me the log file ?

After a deeper analysis we found that business calendar is applied on Timers and is working properly.

However, the problem we encountered is actually in calculation of task due date. When dm_WfmsTimer job is executed first time, the dmi_wf_timer objects are created and the value for r_timer date is set, but it doesn't take into consideration the business calendar. Only on second execution of the job, the date is updated to the correct date according to the business calendar rules, but at this time the task due date is already setup with first value.

So, the user has in the interface a irrelevant Due Date which is not considering the Business Calendar. The print screens for Activity Timers Due Date and Task.Due Date are attached.

For the moment we applied a workaround, we have an "Set Process Data" activity before manual which calculates the Due Date using "Add Business Days". Unfortunately, also this function is not working as expected. Instead of receiving the "business calendar name" as parameter, it allows only to input the week working days as follows: 'Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri'. As I understood, there is an Enhancement Request to improve this function to allow business calendars but still not implemented.

You can try increasing the frequency of this job run.

The job updates the attributes on the timer objects. It doesn't update dmi_queue_item objects related to Task.
