new workarea not showing in ccs

TS6.5sp1 ccstandard win, I've created a new workarea for group x and y, group x can see the new workarea in ccs and ccp however group y can only see it in ccp and not ccs any ideas why?

Funny quirk is if someone in group y adds a page to "my favorites" in ccp then switches to ccs it will show up in their favorites but not in "my workareas".

I've set the permissions so both groups have full control of the branch and workarea although this is probably not a good thing.

All of our business users (300+) only use cc standard and they are very happy. Most of these users came from TeamSite 4.5 and 5.5, so 6.x is a pleasant change.

Check and see if there is a little pencil icon in the upper right of the my workareas portlet. Click on that and then see if the workarea you added is unchecked in the listing that came back. For whatever reason, they are not made visible by default. This has tripped us up on our TeamSite Linux servers.

This functionality is usually does not come OOTB. But yes, if the pencil icon is there, then your reasoning is correct.

This fix has came about thanks to me, due to a reason of really appauling performance of TeamSite in our case, with many branches/workareas/users.

So according to support I may have discovered a bug here, very very strange behavior.:eek:

Looks like ccs can only handle one owner and the one group that is specified in the TS gui when creating a workarea. Even though on the server itself i set permissions on the workarea to add other domain groups to have full permissions, they were unable to view or edit anything in the workarea in ccs (again unless they were either the owner or the one group that was specified at workarea creation via the ts gui).

My intention was to get around having multiple workareas due to all of them having to do constant "get latest"s, which is uber lame.:mad:

The suggested solution is to create a windows group with all the individuals I want to have access to the workarea to be in one windows domain group. The price for this is that everyone in that group will have perms to everything the others do, again uber lame.:mad:

Dont give me any of this use ccpro **** cause my biz users prefer ccs and if it's an option provided by IW it should behave "correctly" my 2 cents.
