D2 4.2 importing multiple files

Hello,

If a user wants to import multiple files using D2, there is a checkbox option called “Same creation profile and properties for all files” which applies same metadata to all candidate files which are to be imported.

Is it possible to CHECK this box and yet be able to change some of the metadata to selective files only and let the other metadata remain as it is.

Any pointers ?

Not out of the box. I guess the label says it all. It's all or nothing.

I suppose you could develop your own plugin that would override the user interface but would probably be a quite complex thing to do, especially with the lack of serious example for D2 plugin dev and the limited documentation.

Or you could create your own 'Import Widget' to do that and remove the out of the box Import from the D2 menus to force the users to use your widget....

Its always disappointing to see such little documentation/technical support related to D2 development online.

Well, in their defence and as a developer myself, I must say that when you have such a complex product with so many options and methods, it is hard to have a very detailed documentation for developers, it;s also very hard to provide examples for everything....

Obviously, if you talk about stuff that is so public as something like the Google Web Toolkit, you will find tons of documents and examples, but most of them are NOT from Google themselves.

I wish D2FS was that much public, we'd find more docs and examples...
