IDFCollection object into XCP 2.2 Result List Widget

Hi,

I am using Java Service to retrieve query result as a collection.

I have result list in UI screen.

how can we map collection object values to result list Widget?

Real Time Query and Full Text Query are not achieving the customer requirements.

please suggest if any possible solution.

Hi Navin,

I think the only solution is to create a stateless process containing at least one step (a "Read from repository" containing your DQL query) and use the result to populate the resultlist.

You mean to say use Real Time query.

'Read from repository' is not allowing me achieve client validations with input parameters.

Sorry I misread ... I didn't catch you were using a Java Service ...

I'm a bit new with xCP but recently I was able to create a Java Object (Bean) and use it as a parameter for a java service step. May be by using the same technic, you can do the same with the result of your java service.

In the SLP create appropriate Process Variables which are required for your Result List to display

JavaService ---> Returns Corresponding values which are captured from IDfCollection

Processvariables In SLP-->copies the values returned from the Javaservice

In SLP configure the variables as output

In resultlist bind the SLP as dataInstance

and column values as output returned from the SLP output process variables.

Hi Nawin,

If you just want to return a collection from a Java Service after running a query, I would just code the typical DFC call with the IDfCollection (IDfCollection = IDfQuery.execute), loop through the IDfCollection and store (whatever multiple items) in an array (e.g.: String[]). After closing the collection (in final part of try/final block), you can than use the array as return type for your Java Service method.

Method example:

public static String[] findStuff(String queryString) {

String[] result;

//Query code here

Return result;

}

This should allow getting the query results back in the (repeating) variable from your stateless process.
