xcp 2.2 update parameter at run time

Hi,

I want to update my parameter with a custom value each time a page is clicked/loaded.

How do we update parameter value at runtime.

Help document shows info related to Manager Application Parameters page but this page is empty in my application.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Is this an "Application Parameter" or "Session Parameter"? The manager parameters page will only show the application parameters.

if you furnish your detailed requirement, there can be better solution. As of now, you can update the parameters, using even DQL. Using the parameter page, user need to update it manually.

Interesting to know that we can update parameters with DQL. How do we do it. App params are saved in docbase?

I have few pages where I am using custom folder template UI.

Based on page clicked (menu item click), I want to hide or show few buttons in this folder template page.

But it is not taking the page name inside the custom folder template because it is loaded inside content area when we select any folder from content tree. so i'm trying to use application parameter to update it with page name at runtime and use it from inside the custom folder template. And then I found my Manage Application Parameters page empty when opened it.

So that is the plan and requirement. Any better ideas for what I am trying to achieve?

I am going to try the http way suggested by Vinod for time being.

This use case will be best solved using session parameter.

Try solving this case using UI Events or session parameter.

You may set a session param when the user is on page '****' and then try to hide/show buttons on depending on this session parameter value.

Playing with UI events is taking more time, I have a deadline, so I configured session parameters. And it worked for the requirement. Thanks a lot Swati.

But my concern still is about application parameters. Just for learning purpose. I want to find out how to update application parameters at runtime. Also, my Manage Application Parameters page is blank. As Hari prasad mentioned, I will try to update this page manually.

For frequent update purpose you should not use application parameters... the purpose of application parameters are different.... so session and ui events only the best way
