default store problem

I am having an issue with sites that are created under the default store. I cannot create page templates in livesite/main/templates for sites under default.
They are not available in the "New Template" popup as a preview site.

Also when creating the new sites in default I do not see the exsiting livesite/main/test sites in the "Create From" select.

I can however create pages in the default sites and access components from there.

the test branch is only for testing non sumbitted components and templates you will not be able use those sites in the default store. do you see any exceptions in your servletd logs?

Thanks. My understanding was that the preview sites for templates were tied to the site where the template would be used, not just the test sites.
