how to make text readonly without using setenabled(false)....

text should be seen in black colour with enable false..

You can do this without any WDK customization by using Composer.  Not sure if this is still a bug, but if the attribute is configured with value assistance, setting it to read-only does not render the value.  It needs to be editable for value assistance to run.
