Migration of content from Vignette to IW

We have a situation where we have some content residing in Vignette and that needs to be migrated to IW. Is there any migration path documentation available?

I know I am being vague but right now, any documentation would help....

No docs. Having done this before, there are two approaches. First you can spider the info down to get flat HTML. Not super helpful since you still need to change the files names to something useful and do stylesheets etc. Same effort as if you were pushing VIGN to a normal web server.

Second choice is to use a script (or datadeploy) to read the RDBMS and grab each record and create an XML file (think future DCR). Then you write DCTs and TPLS and go from there. Still a lot of cleanup, URLS etc, but it is not rocket science.

There was a company called Context Media which had a connector that would transform Vignette data to TS DCRs. I used it and it worked well. But they got bought over by Oracle last year. I am not sure if they still have the product. It wasnt that expensive and the transformation was very clean.

You might want to get in touch with someone in Oracle to see if they still have the product and what it takes.

Nahava has a number of ex-Interwoven people - like their 3-member Management Team which includes Russell Nakano.

I don't know if they deal specifically with migration of Vignette to TeamSite - but you should probably contact them directly to get a response.

Yeah Nahava was also an option that we investigated at that time but it was very expensive compared to Context Media. Nahava had quoted a per KB or MB transformation rate which didnt make much sense in terms of $'s
