Is there a way in which one workarea can be configured for DAS and another workarea configured for standalone deployments?

Is this scenario possible.If so how to achieve that?

Yes.

Just don't do an iwsyncdb on the branches that you don't want to use DAS. You could also filter the events in daemon.cfg if you were thusly inclined.
Everything you need is in the DD admin manual. Have you read it?

Opendeploy administration guide says opendeploy can have multiple instances and only one instance is allowed to have DAS configured in it.

Does that mean both DAS and Standalone deployment configuration/deployments cannot co-exist in a single instance?

Can the event subsystem configured for DAS, use the default database provided in opendeploy instead of a separate dedicated database.

Or is it explicitly needed to have a separate database for eventsystem to work on DAS?
