What is the difference between Documentum Job and Cron Job?

Cron Job runs in Unix/Linux environment and can be scheduled to run a piece of code at particular interval. Documentum Job runs the "Methods" through JBoss method server. Major difference is Documentum Job runs in any OS where Doucmentum environment is set up.
