Hello,

In 5.5.2 when adding a style selector to the visual format editor there was always a "Default Style" listed in the list which when selected would clear any style applied to selected content.

I'm moving to 6.5 and do not see that this OOTB feature in the new version.
Any information you have is appreciated.

I don't remember how 5.5.x was, but there is a command named "cmdunstyle" that you can use in your visual format configuration file.

(replace square bracks with angle bracks)

Look for: [cmd name="cmdunstyle" key="removestyle" ref="cmdUnSty" /]

You can then add a button to use this command to remove the style from the current element.

Like:
[button command="cmdselstyle"/]
[button command="cmdunstyle"/]
[button command="cmdheaderlevel"/]

Thanks for the information! Its working great! A few things I noticed. Selecting the styles copy and choosing this option does not remove the style. You have top click inside a styles section or word and then use it. Is that normal? Also there is no alt text for the icon to let the user know what the button does? Can that also be configured? Also is it possible to change the icon. Not crazy about it.

Yes. The manual does an ok job of documenting tooltips and icons. So I'd start there.

I don't know for this command if you have to add your own tooltip -- or if there is out-of-box stuff somewhere in there that you can just reference (which would make locale-specifics easier).

Your best best sometimes is to read as much of the documentation that you can bear and then compare the configuration for existing/out-of-box commands in the config XML file and play around with it in your dev environment. Rinse, lather, repeat.

The remove style command is available through the product. Here is a snippet of our command definitions from a toolbar configuration file:

button command="cmdselstyle"
button command="cmdunstyle"

This will effectively remove the style related tags from around whatever text is selected.
