simple server side includes

I am having a problem making my server side includes. I am doing something like this

This worked for me earlier, well '$header' is path to the the html file. I need to play around with it to make it work.

I have an other html file which i have to include, this html inturn includes php includes. Is there a way i can add the php code directly to my tpl like this and specify the path to the actual php files.

For example where $NAV_JS=/custom/includes/nav.js.

If I am getting you correctly, you want to put parameters into *another* html file, which you do not generate at the moment when tpl runs?

I think you could open this file in your tpl, modify it, and write it back. Just one of possible solutions. Again, this is if I got your question right
