PIA Compatibility with DFC

Hi,

I'd like to check on a claim from one of our vendors. They claim that they require DFC 6.5 because it's the latest version PIA (Primary Interop Assembly) is compatible with. Problem is: we run Documentum 7.2, so it's a version bigger gap than we care to have.

Is the claim correct or are they rather using an outdated version of PIA?

Thanks!

R.

They are correct to the best of my knowledge.  It is unfortunate, but most apps use the DFS web services now instead of a direct API interface.

There is a PIA 6.7 SP2 compatible with DCTM 7.2, but it's no longer supported.

PIA EOL was with DFC 6.5, so it is no longer officially supported.  As Scott suggested, you should look into rewriting this with DFS/REST apis, so that you will be officially supported on 7.2 and newer versions.
