help: inline command- dying for database connection

Hi all,
we are trying to fetch the data from DB and list it in multiselect box in DCT.
We have one DB script which fetches the required. This script works fine on command line and shows the data. Even this DB connection is working fine for CGI callout. But when i m trying this with inline command it is giving me follwing error
Can't load 'D:\iw-home\iw-perl\vendor\lib/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.dll' for module DBD:racle: load_file:The specified module could not be found at d:/iw-home/iw-perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 229
I read in previous posts that problems may arise due to the ENV variables.
So I set them explicitly in the ipl. But it is still showing me the same error message.I have no clue to go ahead.
We are using teamsite 6.5.0 Service Pack 2 on Windows Server 2003.
Any help is appreciated.

Check if your inline-mode PATH environment variable lists the directory containing OCIW32.DLL.

I checked ENV variable PATH and it is pointing to \oracle\ora92\bin which contains that ociw32.dll.
And you asked abt inline-mode PATH env variable. Is this the PATH env variable which i m cheking or is there any other env variable we need to set for inline commands? Can you please assist me in understanding about this inline-mode env variable and also abt the ociw32.dll file. I m completely blank about this.

You've mentioned before that the script works from CLT mode.
Among other things it means that your original Windows PATH has the required reference. That's not what I asked you to check

Note that upon inline execution TST Engine clears (mostly) the forked shell environment. So, inside your inline script you may have a different PATH!
Log out $ENV{PATH} from your inline and check if the reference is there. If not, set up PATH yourself before DB connection attempt

You have a bug setting PATH.

It must be either
$ENV{'PATH'}="D:\\oracle\\ora92\\bin;..."; # Double Quotes, escaped reverse slash
$ENV{'PATH'}='D:\oracle\ora92\bin;...'; # Single quotes, reverse slash

Besides the quote-slash issue already noted - the setting of the ENV information needs to be done within a BEGIN{...}; block - so that it gets processed before the 'use' statements.

Also - please try posting questions in the correct forums - this should have been in the FormsPublisher forum since it's about inline scripts from DCTs.

Hi,

You seem to have it solved but my answer would be to use ODBC-connections to Oracle on a windows machine. These pm/dll's are installed by default in a teamsite-install. Adding Oracle to you perl-libs is a big hassel (to me at least)

Odbc works ootb:

- create an odbc dsn
- perl chunk:

use DBI;
my $dbh = DBI->connect('dbi Smiley Surprised

DBC:YOURDSNNAME', 'User', 'pw') or die $DBI::errstr;
