Please check the following code which i m using in autoprivate.cfg file.

But my files having extension .tmp are not gettign locked. Tell me what is the problem with this line

I believe you need to include the second section of the autoprivate.cfg file - even if you aren't using it:

 (
  ((x.tmp)(0)(4))
 )
 (
 )
)

Also - this is not for locking - it's for marking the files as private - and it does not do this retroactively - it only does it for newly created files after the change to the config file has been processed by running iwreset

i hav included the second area also . I have included the auuto private file already.If i create a new .tmp file and import it to a workarea's folder with a grroup sharing it this is not turning the file into private.

Please check the extra closed braces after backup pattern. It should NOT be there.

Besides the already noted extra close-paren (which is likely causing you problems - the use of a single numerical specification after the pattern is also wrong.

((x.tmp)(4))

should be

((x.tmp)(0)(4))

which means only match on the 4 character suffix and disregard anything that comes before it ('x' is just a placeholder for "anything").

I suggest you re-read the TeamSite Administrator's Guide - carefully.
