CTS (AVTS, ADTS, MTS) installation failed

Hello,

We started to upgrade xCP 2.0 ENV to xCP2.2. on Windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1.

We get stuck on CTS.

Completly removed CTS from repository and from Server (solution esg43389)

Start to fresh install.

Install three dars on repostiory.

Start to install adtsWinSetup, avtsWinSetup, mtsWinSetup (completed succesfully - but didn't install anything)

It failed to install services (common situation for all CTS version).

Manually created CTS Service (won't start manualy), CTS Monitor (start OK), but cannot install AdminAgent (manually) - required CATALINA_HOME env. variable (tried a lot but nothing helped).

Do you have any suggestion?

I can't open the solution that you referenced, but CTS installation adds entries in registry. When uninstalling previous version, do you recall whether you removed any Documentum/CTS reference from the registry? if not, maybe you can give it a try...

Thank you Ahmad,

I did it. and delete everything under C:/Documentum and C:/Program Files/Documentum.

After all, I decide to use clean Windows mashine and install CTS on it.

This time, everything is installed, configured instance (cts_instance_info) and run two services fine, but DocumentumCTS service wont start as service.

I can run C:\Documentum\CTS\server_install\CTSService\startCTS.bat.

Log is huge.

CTS is 7.2.0220.0260 - CS

It started as:

log4j:ERROR Could not find value for key log4j.appender.FILE_TRACE

There is several log4j.properties, I changed the one in C:\Documentum\CTS\server_install with this:

Event viewer shows this:

CTS error: 2

Unable to change working directory.

Even Documentum Superuser has full permision on Documentum and Program Files/Documentum directory.

Any advice?

Thanks for your support Ahmad,

I made a mistake in the begging. I should install this service from path C:\Documentum\CTS\server_install\CTSService.

I removed old one (win service), install new one and now it works fine.
