Can't Enable the Notification feature

Hi,

I cant use the Notification feature.
I already configured the James and everything.
It seems like, when i added a document where i already notify the user that should be notify when there's a new documents added, edit or remove, the user should be able receiving an email regarding the notification.

But it seems like the email doesn't work.
I even can't send an email.

Do we really need to use the James services? Instead of the Windows SMTP?
I already disable the SMTP services from Windows.

I also unable to send a broadcast message.

JAMES - The Java Apache Mail Enterprise Server is a pure Java server designed to be a complete and portable enterprise mail-engine solution based on currently available open protocols (SMTP, POP3, IMAP, HTTP). Thanks for the info.

I understand that, if we want to use the notification, it has nothing to with James? Let say when i check out and modify a document from the website and check in back, suppose i will receive a notification email back right? And this process doesn't use James server.

But the thing here, when i check out, modify and check in a document, i dont receive any email back.

Is there something wrong in my setting? From the installation documentation and administration, the only component that i can check is the Notification services and the Library manager by inserting a correct user email.

I attach a screen shot here.

In the edit notification, in the Mailer Email what email should i put? Is it any email address can work? OR a special email address ?
And the Account and Password, is it any account that i created by the Library Manager?

First, you need to define the SMTP here if you want to use notification.

Mailer email, it is not any special email address as this will be used in FROM when a email will be send. It should be a valid email address.

When you select the set of persons for notification for a event, it will automatically fetch the email address, which you set in the Library Manager while account setup.

Yes.

The Mailer Name and Mailer Email, these 2 numbers are so-not important and tricky. It can be any values, as long its valid.

The important key here is, the SMTP Server which i think i already got the correct exact SMTP server.

How can you explain to me about the Account and Password, as I know its not an account + password that we create in the library manager.

Correct me if im wrong.

These must be a valid email account and password, the email address you write in Mailer email. Notification Engine varify the account credentials whenever it require to send emails.

For Account and Password, how do i get this things? I hope u can explain this.
Is it some kind of email that is not blocked etc?
