Mergers and Acquisitions

Open Text is set to purchase Hummingbird later this year. Does anyone here want to guess on what might happen to Hummingbird's products that are in direct competition with Open Text's products? ie: Will Hummingbird DM, RM be supported for a while and then be gradually phased out?
What's in the future for Interwoven? Will it remain as a separate entity or will it merge with another ECM vendor or will it be purchased by a company such as Microsoft or IBM who are struggling to build their own ECM product line?

Today, Interwoven has wide range of products in WCM, CDM, DM, DAM, RM, big clientele, popularity is quiet high, operations are worldwide. Though, to answer you question, it depends what Interwoven think and guessing what they think, is very difficult.
So the best is to "wait and watch" and "hope for the best".

Merger and acquisitions are the best way for a company to expand rapidly, they should acquire companies which best suited in the field of CMS.
Though watching Interwoven for some time and its stock in US, seems Interwoven is satisfied with what it is at present and beleive in slow and steady.

Considering the Bangalore meet, we can hope for much better tommorow with Interwoven.

A month or so ago, IBM purchased FileNet so I don't think they'll be interested in buying Interwoven anymore. IBM is still bidding Interwoven TS on RFPs and use it for IBM.com but that may change now that they have comparable products from the FileNet acquisition.
Microsoft is making a push into the ECM space. Sharepoint is gaining popularity and even though it's not very good at the moment, but I think with the talent they have at microsoft and their wide range of existing products they can throw something together and surpass Interwoven's offerings in 3 years or so.
