Data Migration in documentum

Dear Experts ,

I am intetested to know the documentum data migration approach of Oracle 10g from one host to another to a higher oracle version preferably in Linux .

I think we need to check for basic things e.g no documents are checked out,consistency checker has no errors .

And then do a clone of the database from source to target . Is there anything else that needs to be taken care .

In case of D2 what is M2 tool used for, if database cloning resolves all the issues.

I am new to this hence any white paper or link is appreciated!

I don't think there is any utility called as M2 for documentum D2, but yes Migration Utility is there .

Can you elaborate from where did u got this M2 term ? I mean is it any third party Utility or is it of EMC/ Open Text Utility?

If you are just migrating the backend database, then the Content Server doesnt really care as long as the new Oracle version is supported for version of Content Server you have installed. This is why you buy ECM product that is relatively DB "agnostic".
