DCR editing?

Hi there,

I am using TeamSite version 6.1.0 and am responsible for creating the data capture forms and presentation templates for websites. My objective is to create the capture forms and load the initial content for the website. Then, my client will be able to maintain the site, using the data capture forms to make minor changes to content, such as adding/removing left nav items (using a replicant on the capture form), or editing the body content, changing graphics, etc.

Initially, filling in the data capture form to create a dcr and generating the webpage from that DCR works as expected - great! However, I would also expect my client to be able to go into TeamSite and edit the latest dcr, and that it would open up using the data capture form with all of the latest data pre-populated within the various fields. But some of the fields don't display the latest information (see attached image screen1.jpg).

For example the Page Title doesn't show up in the data capture form when I edit the DCR, even though I can view the source of the DCR and see that the Page Title is present in the XML file.

I apologize if this is a common problem, or n00b question, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I used the DCT to create the DCR, and it's very simple, with just text, and image files. No FormAPI... as far as I know. Then I go to the data folder and attempt to edit the dcr, and some of the data doesn't show up, even though viewing the source of the dcr shows the offending data.

We'd need to see the DCT, and possibly an example DCR in order to really help - but let's start with a likely candidate:
- Are you using datacapture6.0.dtd for your DCTs?
- If so are you correctly coding the containers and items with location and pathid attributes respectively?

That's one of the easiest situations to get into where the DCT looks correct, but the data isn't saved in a manner which conforms to the DCT.

I have changed the extensions to .txt so they would upload. cb2 is a DCR created from datacapture.cfg.

FYI - my problem was fixed by ensuring that all of my containers had a name and location, and all items had a name and pathid.
