TeamSite 6.5 Upgrade - Help!!!!!

Currently running TS 6.1 and upgrading to 6.5.... Is there a way to upgrade to TeamSite 6.5 which will install Visual Format 4.2 and then reinstall VF back to 3.0 so end users will not have to execute an install??? Thanks in advance for any feedback...

There is no automated way to do it that I know of. You could probably grab the VFE assets from 6.1 and copy them over the 6.5 version. You'd have tweak alot of silly UI files and rename some of the assets to mimic the 6.5 version to make it work, but it certainly is possible. There would be quite a bit of trial-and-error to get it to work.

I'd be interested if there is anyone that has even attempted this.

This is how we did it:

The upgrade at some point ( I think between sp1 and sp2) upgraded the visual formatter, or ewebeditpro. Since we couldn't push out the upgrade to all the clients, we decided to downgrade to the old version. Luckily this worked, and these are the steps:

# Create the backup of the new version of ewebedit
cp -rf /usr1/iw-home/httpd/iw ~eblack01/local/iw_backup
# Move the old configuration stuff to the top level directory like the new teamsite expects
cp /usr1/temp/bkp_dev/iw-home/httpd/iw/config/* /usr1/iw-home/httpd/iw
# Restart the UI (this is probably not necessary)
/etc/init.d/iw.server stop_all
/etc/init.d/iw.server start
# Move the new ewebedit pro as a backup
mv /usr1/iw-home/httpd/iw/ewebeditpro20 /usr1/iw-home/httpd/iw/ewebeditpro20-newversion
# Copy the old version of ewebedit to teamsite
cp -rf /usr1/temp/bkp_dev/iw-home/httpd/iw/ewebeditpro20/ /usr1/iw-home/httpd/iw/
# Restart the UI
/usr1/iw-home/bin/iwreset -ui
# Copy the old named file to the filename it looks for
cp ewebeditpro20/locale0409.xml ewebeditpro20/locale0409b.xml

At this point it was working except for a license error, and this was the steps to fix that:

# Trying to find out how the variable? is replaced. If I replace the license keys in the
