Matching .dcr
tienle66
I have a dilemma at work with TS users. In the past, we had users moving generated .html files to new subdirectories as a mean to archive.
Recently we removed the 'move', 'copy to', and 'copy' functions from authors and editors.
The problem we're having now is... these 'moved' .html files has the original EA's corresponding to the original .dcrs.
Does anybody know a way to search which .dcr has matching .html files?
Thanks.

If you have DAS set up, you could add TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR to the list of fields deployed to your metadata table and then do SQL queries for what you want.
If not, you have to wrtie a script that will either spider your directory structure explicitly, or do so implicitly using a module like File::Find or File:
irWalk, check the TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR EA using iwextattr and if it ends in '.dcr' (which you will find out by using a regex, then do whatever it is to them that you wish (remove the attribute, I suppose)

In cases like this - I like to have my PT's add EAs to the DCR with the path/names of the generated output files so that you can go in either direction (generated_file->DCR or DCR->generated_file(s))
Some folks have made use of iwpt_compile's '-manifest' flag to obtain (and somehow retain) this information- I don't believe that iwgen provides any such flag though.
Failing that - as robhuffstedtler indicated, you could walk the directory trees to match up generated files with their source DCRs by looking at the EAs on all of the potentially generated files. You'll still need to store this information somewhere - whether on the DCRs as EAs or in a DB or flat-file is your call.
