Validation-Regex to remove MS Word quotes

Hi,

We have a problem where users are copying and pasting content from MS Word into a textarea on the metadata capture form. In doing so the users are placing 'smart quotes' from ms word into the metadata field. These characters are not valid characters for our database and when the metadata field is extracted from the database the characters are replaced with question marks. For example, the metadata field comes out of the DB like this (note the ? in it's):

Does anyone know how to use validation-regex to remove/replace ms word smart or curly quotes from a text area in the metadata capture form?

Hey Nick,

This question might be better for the TeamSite forum as it sounds like a TagUI issue. MetaTagger is the product that does the automatic categorization, summarization and metadata extraction from content.

That said, my guess is that if you specify the regex to disallow high ascii code points, you should be fine.
