Is it possible to force into Webtop or DA to use the "old" UCF mechanism? The one prior to the browser extension (CTE) because this involves modifying the IE security setting.
I was under the impression the browser extensions were only available in D2 and xcp; not Webtop/DA which uses the old WDK framework. In Webtop 6.8 user guide, it only mentions http and UCF.

Webtop 6.8.2 (aka webtop 7.3) has the new extension plugin. However, that's the "old" UCF mechanism. The only difference is that now it works with current browsers by downloading the JRE bundled in webtop and using webrtc. I don't think it's possible to not use the browser extension to run the applet, as that won't work in firefox/chrome.
If you have access to older versions, you could use Webtop 6.7.x. and avoid this issue. Obviously, since 6.7.x is no longer officially supported, you would be own your own if you encountered any issues.
