What version of LiveSite adds support for Visual Format Editor?

In what version of LiveSite was the ability to include the Visual Format Editor in components added?

I’m referring to the Visual Format Editor (Ektron) used with the form templates for years.

We're currently on LS 2.1.0.1.

The Textarea datum allows page authors to edit component properties using the visual editor. We've had it since LiveSite 2.0. We're going to be using a new (and better) visual editor in the next release.

Is there a way of getting a TeamSite Form type WYSIWYG editor in LiveSite components? I am asking this as the current textarea datum type looks very primative and unusable.

Also, Is there a way of removing the font selection option from the text area editor?

As Will said, the current WYSIWYG editor was used during the initial LiveSite/TeamSite integration. We will be upgrading this to a new editor which should be customizable like the VisualFormat ActiveX control used in FormsPublisher.

We have a number of site owners who have used Form Templates (with the Visual Editor) for years, and would likely not migrate those sites to LiveSite until it is available there.

Hey Cruiser,

I know *someone* (not me though!) who has replaced the textarea WYSIWYG editor in Livesite with one that is not so ****. So there you go - if you can't wait for the next release, you can replace it with another editor, but of course this would be very naughty and un-supported (but it would work better...!).

LiveSite 3.0 will support the TinyMCE Editor.
