Change button in cc_pro ?

I have been requested to add a new button (or change a button in cc_pro). It is URL addressible. Can I rename a button (like get latest) and point it to my URL ? I have found how to delete it, but not certain how to change.

Tips/pointers/RTFMs appreciated

here's what I found in the UICG:

Headings can contain a mixture of links, action lists, and menus. Action lists can contain a mixture of links and menus. Menus can not contain other menus as submenus, only links and separators.
A link’s label, icon, reference, result URL, and target window behavior can be customized.Existing links can be moved and deleted. Custom links can be created and inserted intoexisting headings, action lists, and menus.

Hi Andy,

delete or add button in CCPro in a nutshell:
Open \iw-home\local\config\lib\content_center\customer_src\etc\conf\customer\ui_custom.xml, the central config file for UI changes.

To delete a button (e.g. the Search button), add the following code to ui_custom.xml:

[/html]To get the right link id, check the files below \iw-home\httpd\webapps\content_center\WEB-INF\conf (in this case, the file ...\search\ui_ccpro.xml contains the neccessary information...).

To add a new button:
1. define a new button in ui_custom.xml:

id="iw.ccpro.your_id.link"
icon="/base/images/perhaps_a_icon.gif"
target="_top"

[/html]2. integrate the new button to UI.

Button change? I don't know, try to delete the old one and add a new customized button.
Also you can try to overwrite an existing button configuration:
first step should be to search for "iw.ccpro.get_latest" below ...\content_center\WEB-INF\conf and try to find the original button config to get somemore information
Don't know if this works...

Thanks a great deal. I was able to get a new button listed without removing the other button.

One question. With a new button, can you restrict access by role ?

I added this to create the new button in ui_custom.xml:

When entering an entry in roles_custom.xml - you need to enter it for *all* roles (to indicate true/false for each one) - otherwise the behavior is indeterminant.

Also - in the ui_custom.xml entry for the button you need to provide an operationID attribute for the item - and it is that value that you use as an id for the roles_custom.xml entry.

OK, so one thing I am short is that this kicks off a new WF. Code posted a couple days ago on this thread.

On thing that happens is that the comment question opens as a frame inside cc_pro rather than a separate window. I assume that is something stupid in my URL:

You have target="_top" - I believe you want target="_blank"
