TeamSite throws CSException when viewing modified files

Environment: Interwoven TeamSite 6.5.0 Service Pack 1 on Win 2K Server.

Occasionally when selecting the "Modified files" or "My modified files" menu item ContentCentre Professional throws a CSException with the stack trace whose first few entries are shown below.

This happens most frequently when choosing an entire workarea in the left-hand pane prior to submitting modified files. Our current workaround is to drill down in the left-hand pane, select a sub-tree of the directories in the workarea and submit the modified files from that sub-tree. By submitting portions of the workarea at a time we are able to get all modified files submitted.

This does not appear to be related to the number of modified files - on occasions I've successfully viewed modified files and submitted when several hundred files were changed, yet at other times with only around a dozen modified files I've seen it throw the exception.

It also doesn't appear to be related to the length of time the server has been up - sometimes it occurs shortly after rebooting, and other times the server goes for days without the problem manifesting.

The only pattern we've noticed is that once this bug shows up, it persists until at least some (and perhaps all) modified files have been submitted. We haven't found a way to reliably reproduce the problem.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Found a workaround?

We didn't find the root cause of this, but since upgrading to 6.5 SP2 we haven't seen it happen.

There is an issue (known for SP2) where the wrong version of libeay32.dll is loaded.

That may not be the only cause though - the first thing IW support had us do was check for this, and our TeamSite server was set up as it should be. We're currently doing quite a bit of development work with TeamSite (after a lull of several months) so it will be interesting to see if it recurs.

I checked the knowledge base article referenced (56191), and it's for a different problem - the exception trace in the kb article is not the same as the one that results from the issue being discussed here.

I just searched on the error: Unknown exception caught!!!(Internal JNI error) and that came up. Since I do not have the issue, I am not certain what the issue is.

Yes, the first line of the Knowledge Base article exception trace is a message about authentication that isn't present for the issue in this thread.
