database.xml settings available in TuplePreProcessor?

Is the currently selected database parameters available to a java tuple pre-processor class? I want to connect to the same database as the currently running deployment. Where is that information?

I have opened a support case but have gotten nowhere on this. DataDeploy is using some process when it is invoked to read the ddconfig.xml file and open a connection to the database.

Mariam, can you shed some light on this. Hard coding the database connection settings or creating our own xml parser that does exactly what DD does seems inefficient.

This is currently not possible in any version of OpenDeploy. I have filed a feature request for this. It is #66660. Add your company to it if it would help.

The workaround is to write your own XML parsing logic for the database.xml file and create your own connection objects. Unfortunately, you will lose out on the performance enhancements of the database caching made available through DataDeploy.
