email "From" wrong user - missing something?

email_map.cfg properly configured with the following:

sdauth1: email1.com
sdauth2: email2.com
sdedit1: email3.com
sdedit2: email4.com

when auth1 submits to the workflow, the routing goes to an email task and notifies the two editors and routes to a group task shared by edit1 and edit2. The email shows up as having come from auth1 as expected.

If sdedit2 takes the task and rejects, an email is initiated to sdauth1 and sdauth2. However, the email shows up as having being sent from sdauth1, and not sdedit2, the owner of the task.

Throughtout the workflow, the owner of the tasks is iw_user.

Any idea why the email is not showing up as being from sdedit2?

Please post the externaltask definition used for sending the email in the second case - preferably from the instantiated job description (i.e. having enabled workflow debugging) - so there are no variables to decipher.

I've attached the .wft file (as a .doc, as the upload function would not accept a .wft extension - rename to .wft). The email tasks are the out of box email tasks, and not custom .ipl files.

Note that the contained .wft file references windows paths, but are translated to solaris paths upon deployment.

The addresses you're specifying in the command string are the To addresses - iwsend_mail.ipl will default to using the task owner as the From address - and all your email tasks are using iw_user for the owner - so all the emails should appear to be coming from the same user - the one who initiated the job.
You could counteract the default by specifying a task-level variable named mail_from with the value of the sender you wish to use, so it all looks correct.

If you want to have the email come from the user who took ownership of the grouptask you need an externaltask or iwat trigger to take care of that for you - one that will determine who took ownership of the group task and then explicitly set the ownership (or task level variable) of the externaltask used to send the email.
