DB Loader and Data Deploy thru DNR !!URGENT!!

Hi,

I am trying to opendeploy two kinds of DCRs and on the same time trying to deploy the DCR elements to database. For this purpose i have created two definitions. In definition 1 i am using dBLoader to deploy to database. Where as for second definition i am doing the deployment through DNR.

I want to know
1) If the data deploy through DNR fails, will the full deployment Rollback.. ie whether opendeploy will roll back, along with the data deploy through the dbLoader call..

2) In my case when i try to fail the data deploy (DNR) the status for this deployment comes as Completed with errors whereas status of opendeploy and data deploy through the dbloader is shown as completed. Even the opendeploy doesn't roll back? In case a DNR fails then at least the opendeploy should rollback.. this is not happening in my case!

Yes full deployment can rollback if your DNR spits out return code

Within the DNR, if DD fails, print the following to stdout and content pushed via OD will rollback:

Thanks for your reply.. now i am able to rollback the open deploy but datadeploy done through dbloader before calling the DNR is not getting rolled back. Is there any way i can roll back the datadeploy done through dbloader after getting a filed status from DNR.

I'm a bit confused about your deployment config - you're using dbLoader and a DNR to run DD? I think you want to use one or the other, and not both.

However, if there are two DD's to be run for one OD - then I'm not sure what can be done since I think one of the DD's may get committed before the other one is completed - the only way to roll that back (I think) is from an edition of the previously deployed content.

I'd suggest checking with support - also you might find it easier (in the long run?) to switch from using DD to doing all your data deployments with a DNR script that uses Perl DBI (or similar) where you have more control (but have to write more code) over the details.
