Edition with privious version of the files

Want to get one level older version of the files in new branch. Is it possible to get these in one go.

Try using copy to .. functionality of teamsite to copy the files from older edition to the workarea of the new branch.

I think it can be done in a two step process:
1. Create a new workarea within the current branch, using the files of last edition.
2. Use Copy To to move the files from that workarea to newly created branch.

If you're talking about from a previous edition then you should be able to use the mechanisms already described in previous responses.

If you're talking about for a set of files from prior to a recent submission - and you're using a version of TS that creates hidden editions for submissions (TS6.x for sure, possibly 5.5.2 though the CLT manual doesn't seem to indicate it) - then a variant of the mechanisms described would work (I don't think you can list hidden editions in the GUI, but you could perform the command using CLTs).

If you're talking about the exact previous version of each and every file in the branch without respect to published editions (and/or without benefit of hidden editions) - then you could use various CLTs (like iwrlog, iwattrib, iwcat, etc.) to progrommatically do this - though frankly I think this premise is unlikely to produce the real desired results - the other two suggestions are more likely to result in something meaningful.

In this case you might look into the iwrevert CLT. By using this you can revert to any older version of a file.

I don't know how compatible is the following with your requirement:

1) Copy the required files to another branch
2) Run iwrevert on the files, that will revert the fiiles to previous version.
3) Cut an edition.

The above might help you/ you can build on this approach.

As said above you can revert using iwrevert in your workarea, then take content of this workarea to another workarea in another branch.

That new workarea will have (not sure) all the previous versioned files

I agree with iw_store... copying the files to another workarea will make sense, because if the files are copied to a new branch their version will be 0+(This won't solve the purpose).
Use iwrevert in the new workarea.
Copy these files to new branch and then cut an edition there.
