How do we attach a file to a task in a work flow.

Where do i attach files to a specific task.

Something of sort.

You are doing the right thing. But please be more elaborative as from where you are doing the step and if it is failing then what is the error being displayed?

Also provide info about your environment, you are working on.

I am not able to understand where to put the AddFile call .

I am attaching the files on submit of the workflow.

Have done the following in the workflow template

The exception that we get "cant call addfile method without a package or object reference"

The command attribute of an externaltask needs a script and not a object.

I am not able to understand as from where you get that... with in command attribute ... you can pass out an method or object.

It should be an ipl file or else... as you have declared the task as an external task type.

You have your logistics mixed up.

There are two distinctly different scenarios here.
1. Files you want to attach exist and are known in the WF instantiation time.
In this case you request attachments in your wft File in one of two ways:
a) Use WFConstructor and proper parameters of it's declare_workflow method Or
b) Directly using <files> tag in your starting task.
Note that at this point WF does not exist yet and therefore job/task Objects can
not be instantiated or obtained.

2. You want to attach Files dynamically during WF Execution.
You can do that from the External task or CGI task script. It is up to you
(or rather your code) to figure out WF/Task Id's, get task object of
the type "TeamSite::WFtask"and use AddFile method to attach Files….

In short, you need TS Workflow development training.
