ECM2 connector: Submitting referenced WSMP asset?

Hi,
We have installed ECM2 on TS6.5SP2 (Solaris). Using the sample templates as a guide I have added a WSMP-connector field to a DCT, to reference WSMP assets.

When generating the page, the WSMP asset is successfully pulled into TeamSite. When submitting the html file, however, one needs to explicitly submit the WSMP asset as well. I would appreciate it if someone could share a sample workflow/script that automatically submits the referenced WSMP assets along with the generated page.
