How to calculate how long a user took to complete a survey?

Want to use survey object as a 'test' for Call Centre agents. Will add an extended property to survey object 'time to complete'. Then want to report on the following per test:
* Header: test | user | duration taken
* Detail: user | question | answer

Any ideas on this? Any better approaches?
