EventSubSystem support

Eventsubsystem appears to be configured properly, however no events (submit and the like) are being written to the database. eventsubd.log is reporting no errors. Can someone please point me to the checks I should be going through to verify where the issue is? It's been configured as per the install guide. Better yet, is there any documentation outside of the install manual?

Turns out it was a case of having old drivers for the Oracle database connection.
