Deploying contents of DCR to Database using datadeploy

I am using datadeploy for the first time . I have a requirement that i need to store the contents of DCR into Oracle 10G database using datadeploy.

I could not find exhaustive documentation for this.

Steps I followed as per my understanding from the reference documents :

1. I installed datadeploy enabler program on top of my Opendeploy 6.02.

2. Mapped my DCT to existing Schema using the OpenDeploy Configuration GUI. This created my configuration (.cfg) file at the specified location.

How do i run the cfg file so that the contents of DCR is pushed to database.
Where do i map my DCR to the generated cfg file.

Are there other settings that i need to specify at other places as well.

Attached are the generated cfg file, odbase.xml ,databse.xmlfile for reference.

Please provide solution for this asap.

Hi Sachin,

First off, I did not see a DD configuration file in your list of files. The dbschema file actually is part of a dd configuration and needs to be placed within this file.

I assume you are doing a standalone deployment not DAS?

If so, once you have the DD config file, place it under odhome/conf (make sure it has the .xml extension). You then run an OpenDeploy deployment
iwodcmd start -k iwdd=

The appendix of the DD admin guide has a full tutorial to walk you through an end-to-end use case.

B'cos i am not having any DTD file . I am using my FormsPublisher data capture template (DCT) to generate my (.cfg ) file.

I had attached the generated cfg file in my post named 'dbschematemplate'.

How will i use this configuration file to generate the DD Configuration (.xml) file.

Also please let me know how do i invoke the DD Configuration as part of my workflow.

As per my understanding i need to invoke the DD Configuration from my perl script in WorkFlow, but in this case where do i specify the deployment name.

I think you need to spend a lot more time reading the manuals, taking some training classes offered by Interwoven and/or searching through the forums.

For starters - make sure you read the Database Deployment for OpenDeploy Administration Guide - also, as per the release notes - you want to make sure you're using 6.0.2 SP1 or later if you're working with Oracle 10g.

Sachin ... as ghoti mentioned, you should go through the DD guide, especially the tutorial at the end. You can create the xml config by hand or using the OD admin UI... there is wizard interface to create standalone DD config files.
