Can anyone provide me with a workflow scenario where the "Not gate" could be practically used?

I am quite familiar with AND & OR gates but need some more info on the same.

I am also curious to know, if any case exists to use a NOT gate within workflow.

NOT :: The task must not be completed to activate a successor.

One senario I can think of for NOT gate is: where you have external task which you know may take long time to complete but you know which would not effect your next task.

You can use NOT to transition to next task before your first task get's over.

Any thoughts on this ...
