CGI task

Hi,

I'm developing a simple workflow that allows users to add the submitted files to navigation bar.
I'd like to open a DCR File by CGI Task but I found several problems.
I'm using Teamsite Content Center Professional 6.5 with web templating record GUI.

In the support section I found the following example:

a)Knowledge Base Article: 2231
Suggests to create Perl script that post all info to this ULR /iw-bin/iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi/tmplJavaBrowserSwitch.cgi/edit_dcr
But in TS6.5 dosn't works cause tmpljavaBrowserSwitch is not available.

b)Knowledge Base Article: 1654
Suggests to use iwdcredit.cgi
But this solution does not works too!

How can I edit a DCR by CGI in Workflow?
Suggestions??

If you take a look at the Interwoven User Interface Customization Guide, you should find the appropriate CCI url for editing a DCR in the section titled "Using URL Commands". You will need to write a wrapper CGI script to call the edit and transition the workflow accordingly.

Use the following while opening the DCR from a CGI file

For Editing:
http://servername/iw-cc/edit?vpath=DCRnamewithWkArea

For Viewing:
http://servername/iw-cc/previewfile?vpath=DCRnamewithWkArea

As far as this query is concerned... it still need more inputs from you. As from where you are seeking to have the task ID? From a DCT or a workflow initiation phase?

Are you referring to how to transition the task when it is complete?

If so, you either need to do a TeamSite::WFtask->CallBack() or a iwcallback. For more info on these, try:

perldoc TeamSite::WFtask
iwcallback -h

Or read the documentation.

Actually - if it's for a cgitask - you'd want to look at TeamSite::CGI_lite::iwcallback rather than TeamSite::WFtask::CallBack - or, as per the UI Customization Guide (page 101 in the 6.0/6.1 release; page 109 in the 6.5SP1 release; page 115 in the 6.7 release) - use the CCI URL /iw-cc/transitiontask with appropriate form variables defined.

Hey Adam, just out of curiousity, why do you say that? I never use TeamSite::CGI_lite, hate it. And I always use TeamSite::WFtask::CallBack for externaltasks and cgitasks.

If you ever want two back-to-back cgitasks, owned by the same user, to be able to run immediately (or more specifically, to have the second one run immediately) you need to use the iwcallback or CCI URL mechanism - the TeamSite::WFtask::CallBack will not enable the second cgitask to run immediately.

If you don't care about that - then any one of the 3 is equally sufficient.
