ccpro copy issue

Hi,

Env: TeamSite 6.1 on Solaris.
We are trying to copy a dcr with a temp name in the same workarea and making that copied dcr available for editing-- all in a single href. We are having issues with the copy command but the redirect works fine.

Following is the snippet thats not working:

Not sure - but I think your done_page setting in that url is suspect.

Thanx for ur reply. Even if I remove the done page & full redirect parameters, the copy command still throws an error -- null pointer exception.

from? I don't believe that is the correct URL - I think you want

.../iw-cc/copy?...

Hi Ghoti,

I got this command on mouseover of the copy command in teamSite. Using iw-cc/copy as suggested by u throws me an error.. that the command copy is not found in command descriptors.

That's kind of strange if you have 6.1 installed - since according to the UICG - page 90 - the copy command should exist. I'm out of ideas with respect to the URL for the moment - the only other suggestion I could make would be to code the process as a CGI (custom menu) or workflow process and if need be, copy the EAs programmatically if you can't get them to come over as part of the copy.

We looked up the UICG documentation and found the correct command syntax.

Can you provide a page reference for the manual you are looking at?
Also what is the Release number on the cover of the manual?

I ask because looking at the Interwoven User Interface Customization Guide Release 1.1.0 I can find only one instance of "/iw-cc/command" - which is[indent]UICG@page:88[indent]URL commands have the following format:

http://hostname/iw-cc/command-name?parameter1=value1&parameter2=value2...

[/indent][/indent]in which the string "command" is part of "command-name" which is italicized, indicating it is to be replaced with the actual name of a command (which are listed several pages further on in the manual).

I can find no references to the string "iw.ccpro.copy" anywhere within the manual.

I'm happy you got something to work - but it looks like it is completely undocumented and therefore potentially unsupported and likely to stop working when you next apply a service pack or upgrade...

You do not really expect an answer, do you? There is no such manual, our friend kingtut is either
genuinely confused or just kidding.

Both "working" and "non-working" fragments are curious mix of internal non documented command
taken from "Copy" link properties and parameters for similar (documented) CC URL.
Oh well, it worked for him at least for now. For all we know, documented URLs
are perhaps aliases for internal ones, with subset of parameters exposed.

That was a mistake in haste on my part. I should have mentioned that the command i posted was not the one found in the manual.

I used the copy command link we get on mouseover to achieve the desired result. I understand that this type of command usage may not be supported later.

I will still try with the manual provided command and let you know if I succeed with it.

I agree with the previous postings. This is not a good idea, and most likely will break when you upgrade TeamSite versions.

A safer route, using standard APIs would be to just make a simple java servlet that did what you need to, using the CS SDK api methods.

There is information about this in the UICG about how to add the servlet to Content Center and then use the CS SDK javadocs for information on how to access it.
