checkbox default checked

In tag_info, m using 4 checkboxes and i want one to be default selected. I used "checked" option for default checked.

while running the workflow when i view source the form, workflow after calling iwwft_instantiator.cgi removes "checked" option and i don't get my checkbox as default selected. I m on TS 6.5 sp2/windows 2003

can anybody tell me how can i overcome this problem.
